Hey what's up Adam and fellow designers?
I am Scott, I work as a Graphic Designer for our local Phone book, designing ads for the yellow pages, setting up the local government pages, setting up the covers etc, etc. its a pretty fun job... not the highest paying, but i do get a lot of creative freedom, which kinda makes up for it.
To make other ends meet, I, of course freelance under my own business name "Doubleu Desgin" Right now i am going through a new look as i welcome my sister (fellow designer) into this little business.
With the magic of the internet... she does her stuff down in arizona, and i accomplish mine up here in spokane, wa.
My main design specialty is vinyl decals. Finally being nice to people payed off, because a buddy of mine bought a 40" vinyl cutter off a local custom auto shop for $900 and brought it to my house and said "make money with it, all I want is all my stuff for free" I said deal. luckily he doesn't ever need too much.
trying to learn web design right now... so bear with my site if you try and visit.

well, new stuff with me now. no longer at the phone book. worked at an auto body shop for a year or so, now i am a stay at home step dad ... or soon to be step dad that gets to design through the day.
my new business is called Fire Lab Studio. We are compiled of My old art director Aaron, his old art director Rena, and myself.

i like the new company name and the site. very concise and well designed! glad you got to come back to the work that makes you happy! did you find that the time off gave you a renewed passion for design?

I don't think there is ever "time off" from design. Once you are in, you are IN. You can't escape it, it follows you! But thats why I love it. Thanks for the props on the site and name.

yeah, for sure there is never time off, but i'm sure you saw at least a little difference between designing during the majority of the day, and working at the auto body shop during those hours instead?
